No matter what gadget you have and no matter how you baby it or protect it, sooner or later, the inevitable will happen, and it will break. It may break down from general wear and tear, you may drop it on the floor or in water, but no matter what, it will break down in some way shape or form.
Recently during what I would like to call my own technological tragedy, I was faced with two broken iOS devices. An iPod Touch 4th generation and worse, the gadget to end all gadgets, my iPad 2 suffered shattered screens.
It is well known, that Apple will repair all devices for fees that are close to the purchase price of a new device. I did not want to spend, nor have that amount available to me. So I turned to the internet to find a reputable shop to repair both devices.
After sifting through countless of what I like to call “fly by night shops with the attitude of “sure we can fix it”, “guaranty? click”, I came across the gadget hospital and ER service at http://www.wirelessemt.com. It was great that they were within 3 miles of me.
I called and inquired about the repair. Their employee was courteous and professional, as he explained the process to me. At 2pm that day, I brought both the iPod and iPad. Their estimated time of repair was to be by noon the next day. Well it wasn’t noon, it was 11:00 AM.
Both devices looked as if I just unboxed them. In other words, they were shiny and new.
I was extremely impressed at the work and the fact they use factory OEM parts, sealants, etc. They also standby their work, with a 90 day warranty.
The price for repair is right on their website. What you see is what you pay. They charge considerably less than many other chain stores as well as Apple themselves. With a usual 24 hour turn-around time, you will not be with out your device for long. They also have a loaner program available if parts are not in stock and your device requires more time. They don’t just repair iOS devices either. They will also repair laptops, tablets, phones and gaming consoles and devices. This includes almost any type of damage, from broken screens, to water damage (two services I have needed), to general break fix and upgrading. They also from time to time will take trade-ins and have a good selection of used devices at a fraction of the cost you will pay elsewhere.
